Creating natural looking 3D assets of plants for your video game is often needed if you want to create impressive looking 3D environments. However, this is either a difficult and time consuming task or it requires the use of software outside of the game engine. Therefore we, Emil Wallraff and Jan Ruppert, developed the Unity Plugin “Plant Generator” in cooperation with CritCrew. It allows you to generate 3D models of plants procedurally on the basis of Lindenmayer Systems as well as to animate their discrete growth. In addition, the plugin gives you the opportunity to merge two generated plant models in your preferred way to easily create more unique plant models.
