Description

Jobs in the construction industry count to the most dangerous occupations. Theoretic safety knowledge is the first step to avoid injuries, but it cannot fully replace practical experience. Virtual reality enables training scenarios for safety training that are closer to actual hands on experience while maintaining a safe learning experience. But creating safety training scenarios for specific dangerous construction scenarios can cost a lot of resources.

This thesis proposes a framework for the creation of virtual reality construction safety training scenarios by utilizing principles from established instructional design and game design frameworks as well as the Unity game engine.
